Expeditions & Exploration

Since his grandfather got him a subscription to National Geographic Kids for his sixth birthday, Mitch's obsession with the age of exploration and the grit of self-propelled wilderness expeditions has only grown stronger.

Mitch has completed several multi-day wilderness expeditions in all four seasons with a deep love for the winter. He reveres the days when exploration was taking a step into the unknown with just a map and compass and is equally enthralled by new-era expeditions that integrate athleticism to accomplish a first, furthest or fastest.

Mitch regularly plans and takes part in expeditions that include whitewater paddling, trekking, mountaineering, cycling, cross-country skiing, touring, running and snowshoeing. Coming from an endurance-sport background, Mitch truly comes alive when the suffering begins.

Beyond physical expeditions, Mitch is passionate about expeditions that uncover new knowledge and highlight seldom-herd voices. Whether it's trekking deep into the Andes Mountains or snowmobiling across the Arctic Ocean, Mitch brings a passion for adventure.

He has worked as a four-season wilderness guide in his home province of Ontario teaching backcountry and survival skills to a wide range of clientele.

Mitch completes expeditions for the fun of it, and joins expeditions as a filmmaker, photographer and writer specializing in remote environments and endurance sport.
