Stories speak to me. In 2017 I graduated from Ryerson University with a degree in journalism. I focused my studies on documentary filmmaking and feature writing. Telling stories with depth, unraveling themes, and truly understanding people became the focus of my work. 

 

To pay for school, I worked as a swim and strength & conditioning coach (still do part-time as the owner of Swimming Stronger) where my interests drew me into the world of elite endurance performance. Moving past traditional sports, my interests followed the stories of explorers who had traversed wild landscapes. 

 

These stories were the fuel that inspired my own exploration where I developed both technical skills in a variety of outdoor terrain. I threw myself into multi-day trekking trips in the mountains, climbed to the summit of Mont Blanc, spent six days bikepacking across the Yukon, and completed several multi-day canoe trips and winter snowshoe trips in my home province of Ontario. A 12-day mountaineering course with Alaska Mountaineering School in Denali National Park taught me technical survival skills in glaciated terrain. 

 

Through my adventures I also developed a deep connection to our planet. By combining my technical outdoor skills with my storytelling background, I’m working to tell in-depth stories that inspire people to get outside, forge a connection with the natural world, and protect it.

After several years of working for social and environmental non-profits I started North Country Media House to focus on helping a variety of non-profit, tourism, and environmentally conscious for-profit organizations share stories about our connection to nature.

When I'm not camera in-hand, you can find me relaxing in the wilderness, listening to old blues music, cooking new recipes, training for some crazy goal, and enjoying the simple moments of life with the people I love. Read on to learn more about my work and style.
